Revision due to official error help please

So, I claimed (C) ESA in Feb 2013 so my year is up. They did the maths wrong (only just realised) and I should have been getting an IR top up - which I believed would have had implications for my HB also.
I have spoken to them today to see if they had received my letter, they hadn't so they lodged a mandatory reconsideration - which I believe if successful will entitle me to a little IR ESA now.
With regards to the possible underpayment for the last year, he asked if I wanted to log a revision due to an official error - I said I wasn't sure (didn't know what it was) but he said it didn't matter as they would probably ring me to discuss the MR anyway. On looking it up, I think a revision is what I'm after, as the DM made a mistake when calculating my income initially a year ago.
Am I on the right track here? Is it worth a punt? I could kick myself for not noticing sooner...

Hello Andy ...didn't take you long to reappear after another one of your Alter Ego's got banned...The more you post bigbrotherbarnone/aka andy/aka gawdonlyknowswhonext , the easier you make it to identify your true persona in RL. And when you are identified, do you not think that some of us would take great delight in shopping you to HMRC or DWP or both?
OP best to ignore posts by this bigbrotherbarnone .. He has resurrected an old username after being banned previously.bigbrotherbarnone wrote: »But what of the posts that I make, are they true or are they fictitious - who knows?Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

Oh the joys of Andy...thanks for the heads up...I've heard a lot about him but I don't have the botheredness to keep track!
Anyone know the answer to my q? Or stab a guess?0 -

Well that didn't work then did cause you've been rumbled virtually straight away on this user id.
OP hope it does go well for you with regards to the reconsideration because if you receive arrears of ESA(IR) all your income and capital is disregarded for the period the arrears cover and there afterte arrears are treated as capital (usually disregarded for a year) hope it goes well fingers crossed !Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

Many thanks, I can but try. I'm pretty sure it's the right way to go so we'll see!0
