Cruise ship worker insurance

Does anybody have experience of purchasing annual travel insurance for a cruise ship worker for personal possessions and medical expenses etc?

  • I doubt a travel policy would insure you for doing your job.

    What does the employer suggest?
  • Echo the above, certainly from a medical expenses point of view I would have thought this came as part of your package from your employer.

I doubt any normal annual travel insurance policy will cover you for being out of the uk for over 50% of the year and you are therefore into the realm of getting coverage for each trip which would quickly add up.

The personal possessions cover is less of an issue. Plenty of mid-upper ranged policies do provide unlimited global cover for PP but that assumes you've got enough contents "back home" to justify getting a decent home policy rather than ultra budget
  • speak to your company - medical things should be covered.
