Credit Searches

I have credit searches showing on my Noddle report on the 27th May 2013 and 27th May 2012. There are 4 showing in 2012 and 5 showing in 2013.

These searches state they are 'general insurance' but these searches have been made at my Mums address which I haven't lived at for 3 and a half years! The only thing I can think of is that it is car insurance as when I did have a car my renewal was always around May time. However I have not owned a car since November 2011 (currently on my partners insurance on his car but that renewal is November).

I have tried to contest these searches as they are at the wrong address for something I don't need and I didn't authorize them. However I received a letter today from one of them (Lexisnexis Risk Solutions Uk Limited) saying they will not remove the search as they believe I did authorize the search.

Is there anyway I can get these searches removed? I know they probably won't cause much difference to my credit report but thats not the point!

Likely these are from when you used a comparison site in the past. The T&Cs do include a term to allow this unfortunately.

I doubt you will get them removed as they did happen, however if you write to the companies to revoke their permission to do this you shouldn't get any more appearing next year.

Insurance searches are not taken in to account by potential lenders viewing your file.

If they aren't taken into account I'll just leave the ones that are already on and write to the companies to ask them not to perform searches again.

These are during 2013 and one search this year.
I have not used comparison sites this often - only twice last year, and none this year.

Why is this happening, and what companies go I write to?
