Euro Car Park Letter (Scotland)
D90
Hey there im new to all this so sorry if ive posted in the wrong bit.
I just recieved a letter from Euro Car Park saying that i'm due them £90 for exceeding the maximum free parking by 152 minutes. On the letter it has 2 pictures of the car's license plate with no date/time stamp on the picture but below in writing. Anyway i have read all the advice about ignoring the letters but have a few questions about it all.
On the stated date I shopped in Morrisons, then left the car park to wash the car in Morrisons garage across the road and then returned the car to the same space in the car park where i left the car to go to the gym around the corner.
1) Because they have put the pictures of the license plate do they have cctv of me leaving the car and then entering again at these times. If so because of the 152 minutes exceeding the free parking limit would it be worth just paying the fine?
2) Because i went to the gym aswell as use morrisons services can they enforce this charge?
3) If i ignore it and they keep hounding me by sending me debt collectors letters is there any effect on my credit rating?
Thanks for any advice.

They can do nithing to you or your credit rating beyond send a few scary letters. POFA 2012 was never enacted in Scotland, so there is no keeper liability and they have nothing to go-on if you don't contact them and "confirm" you were the driver.
So IGNORE everything short of genuine, properly issued court papers - but don't hud your breath for that happening!
Have a look at the pre-POFA letter chain thread in this forum for a fair idea of the rubbish they will send you over the next few months and just tick them off when they arrive!

And it's NOT A FINE!0

Yep, as it already tells newbies in the 'Private Parking ticket? NEWBIES PLEASE read this first!' sticky thread. No need for any new threads or queries really re Scotland or NI cases, nothing has changed and if it had then the top 'parking forum sticky' notices would have been updated. The only people who should appeal are those where the car is a lease/hire/courtesy car, to hook the debt collector letters away from a company that may be stupid and pay it.kirkbyinfurnesslad wrote: »In Scotland you ignore
Heck NO!!!! LOL!! This isn't a FINE!1) Because they have put the pictures of the license plate do they have cctv of me leaving the car and then entering again at these times. If so because of the 152 minutes exceeding the free parking limit would it be worth just paying the fine?
Irrelevant detail - this is Scotland so not enforceable as they will never know who the driver was and ECP don't do court (and won't start with a random Scottish case!).2) Because i went to the gym aswell as use morrisons services can they enforce this charge?
Of course not! It's a scam! You get debt collector letters... then you get...more debt collector letters.3) If i ignore it and they keep hounding me by sending me debt collectors letters is there any effect on my credit rating?
You really should read the sticky threads, top of the forum and in my sticky for 'NEWBIES' that I beg newbies to 'read first!' (but they never do) is a Watchdog clip you will enjoy, specific to Scotland/NI now.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You might be interested to learn that the debt collection agency do a free recycling service. So far i have sent them some housebricks, soil, fencing, old tin cans and several copies of the Argos catalogue 2013. All marked "freepost". I assume they dispose of them at their end, but it has helped me de clutter my garden and living room book shelf greatly. Nothing they can do in Scotland to enforce the ticket or 'fine'. Rest easy.0
