un sorn'ing a car and tax disk
quick question, ive got an old brute of a merc sorned and sitting on my drive at the moment, and thanks to a change of works car im thinking of putting it back on the road.
now i know insurance is no probs it just needs call up my old company as there las renewal was awesome.
mot wise it is pretty simple, just a couple of tyres, a light bulb and adjust the handbrake so most of it i can do before the mot and just pay the £50 odd quid of imaginary work the garages add on to bump up the cost and bingo.
the road tax is the issue, i cant get this before its mot'ed and i cant drive it on the road to get mot'ed without it being taxed.
now i am not normally bothered but my job depends on a driving licence and it would just be my luck and done on the way to the mot station. anybody know what the 100% legal way round this is short of a trailer or my dad who doesnt need his licence at all driving it.

Yes you can drive it on the road without tax to get it MOT'd. The law allows you to drive a vehicle without tax and/or MOT to and from a PRE-BOOKED MOT test. It must be fully insured though and in roadworthy condition - i.e no bald tyres.0
