Information Older Than 6 Years

As a general rule will there be any information showing on a persons credit file that is older than 6 years?

Or does litterally anything beyond 6 years from today IE 19/02/2008 just not be on there?

Information on closed accounts/CCJs/defaults should be gone after 6 years.

Linked addresses seems to stay on longer, although there should not be any information held relating to that address if it is over 6 years ago...

I think you have to give them a month or so to give them time to process it.

    Yes

Information on accounts closed in the last 6 years may hold payment history information for the last 6 years the account was open.

Financial associate data can stay on indefinitely unless you file a notice of disassociation.

Linked address information may date back to more than 6years ago.

SO if an account isn't closed it would still show information beyond 6 years?...

If an account is open and not defaulted it will only show the last 6years worth of payment history.

Nope. It would show the payment history for UP TO the last 6 years.

Of course the "UP TO" depends on how long the account has been running for...
  • Check any Notices of Correction as they seem to stay on until you ask for them to be removed.
  • Can the status history of a settled account be removed upon request by a person to the credit agency if it is longer than six years old?
