BT Broadband Talk - Call Plan charges

I saw my monthly BT bill was higher than normal so decided to check the itemised bits.

I found that, after years of the Unlimited Evening & Weekend calls package being free on the Broadband Talk 'line', they'd suddenly started charging £3.50/month for it. Apparently, I'd been notified of this change by email (no I hadn't).

So, I cancelled the 'line' immediately along with the £3.50/month Call Diversion Calling Feature (which was handy to have but which, in reality, I no longer need).

Yes, I know they want to get rid of Broadband Talk but the price hike resulted in a £7/month saving for me and a £7 loss for BT.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
