Wednesday 19th February old style daily

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

  • Good morning everyone :)

Back to work this morning and it seems very dark, can't wait until Spring appears and there is a bit of light at the start and the end of the day.

Am loving all the wedding dress links, I like the 40s/50s style too. Island Maid, you will be a beautiful bride.

Better get a move on but will try and pop back later for a catch up with everyone's news.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super day :)

Not much weather to talk about this morning, seems just the same as usual - damp and cold! Although yesterday it did reach 9 degrees!

Taken sausages out of the freezer for tea but not sure what to have with them, will have a think.

Washing and ironing up to date, emptied DW and will get organised for the builder coming, will leave him with a key so he can lock up when he's finished.

Have a good day, take care. XX

    Morning :hello:

I have some second-hand cane furniture, it was surviving quite well outside (under a shelter). The shelter sprang a leak and one of the chairs got a bit wet, it was a nice day yesterday so I put it on the patio to start drying. I didn't notice when it started to rain and it's now soaked through. It's going to take ages to dry, I'm annoyed because I've made space in the bedroom and I can't wait to put the chair in there and sit on it :D

Egg production is up again, I have customers waiting so I'll have some sales soon :D

Leek and tomato seedlings are growing well in the kitchen, the onions and garlic on the veg patch are looking strong and healthy.

I've started crocheting my first item for sale. Bit nervous about this :D

Mr tru is driving me insane, I've started to pretend he doesn't exist :p

I'm having that wonky tooth out on monday WITHOUT SEDATION  They offered it, but I'd have to wait ages for an appointment at the access centre so I said no, I just need to get all this dental stuff over and done with ASAP. I'm a grown-up, it'll be fine. I was obviously have a brave moment because I'm really regretting it now _pale_

    Morning all,

Raining here (surprise) I am off to work soon but dd has the day off she has assignments to do and she needs to apply for next years grants etc for uni so that will keep her busy the rest of the week.

The dw needs emptying and re filling so I will ask dd to do that. Fish pie for dinner tonight with some peas and sprouts its all made I just need to get it out of the freezer this morning, dd will have veggie lasagne.

Washing to do tonight and will have a quick tidy through.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning everyone

Now light here, light cloud but damp underfoot as there’s no wind and not too cold either.

DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early.

Dinner last night was easy fish, chips and beans/veg for the menfolk. I had salmon, jacket potato and veg. Remembered to get the meat out of the freezer, so that’s now in the slow cooker with assorted veg and gravy – it will be beef stew and dumplings, I’ll serve it with new potatoes and veg. Very happy with my hair colour – feels better now, menfolk all look much tidier too.

Work wasn’t very busy yesterday in the morning but was busier in the afternoon – a typical day in the school holidays – as it takes everyone a bit longer to get themselves up and organised! The new SM opens tomorrow morning so going to be avoiding that side of the town for a day or 2! Only working until lunchtime and this paid working week is over for me – will come home and continue with the unpaid work! Have several things on the “to do” list. I’m trying to keep a record of the amount I spend on food/household items – similar to the GC on here, I’m just doing it myself and recording the spends in my desk diary – really scary at how much food has increased in price – I’m so pleased I found this site as it just helps being aware and being able to do as much as possible to not get ripped off!

    Keep safe and well x

    Hi everyone,

An early start for me as the piano from mum and dad's arrived at 7.15. I'm really cross with DH because he has been moaning about it (he has had to dismantle his digital piano for it to go in the space) even though he hardly touches the digital piano and he'll be able to use the real one. I got quite upset last night and told him that if it had been part of his family's heritage he would have been quite happy. I think that shot got home.

I have to wait in for the settee to be delivered as well this morning - I can't believe that they both plumped for the same morning rather than causing maximum inconvenience.

Apart from that some major re-jigging of storage is required. We seem to have stuff everywhere and I hate that so I'm going to tackle that over the next few days.

Tru, your post made me shudder, I've given birth naturally and recently had a colonoscopy without sedation but TEETH - no way.

    Have a good day everyone.
