Help 12 yo daughters birthday sleepover - ideas needed

Hi there,
I am trying to think what my 12 year old niece would like, here are some ideas:
You could have make over session, you could get some cheap nail stickers from somewhere like https://www.mycraftynailart.com and some nail polish and they can do there nails or get some twine to make simple hair braids or friendship bracelets, it's really cheap on Ebay.
Last year I did a clue hunt round the house for Easter with my nieces and nephews, it was more for the little ones but my older niece got really into it. I set out clues to different things in the house and at each one they found I left a little chocolate and another clue, at the end you could have a dvd and some popcorn as the last prize.
Also letting them do there own pizzas is a fab idea, it will take up lots of time but it may be very messy!0 -
I did a party for my niece a few years ago. She is 12 now, but was about 8 at the time and I asked her what she would still like:
Nails - the pound shops have nail art and lots of nail varnishes. It may be worth asking the girls to bring their own and ask friends and family to lend you some so you have a large selection.
Face masks - I googled 'home made face masks'. Many of the ingredients are things I had at home. I wrote labels like 'sugar for exfoliation' and let the girls make up their own masks depending upon their skin 'problems'. I admit, some of it was made up........
Ice cream factory - I bought some ice cream (the one that has vanilla, strawberry and chocolate section) and toppings like a a smarties, chocolate sauce etc.0 -
I just had a birthday party for my daughter turning 13 over the weekend. I bought a couple of cake mixes and made a 2 tier cake, bought balloons and had DD help blow them up and decorate. Kept some down for messing about with as well. Got paper plates and a banner from the pound shop and found some birthday games online.
The 2 that my daughter and her friends liked was whipped creme bubble challenge which was putting a piece of bubble gum in a pile of whipped creme and whoever could blow a bubble first won.
The other one was spin and dare. It's basically spin the bottle, whoever it points to has to do an innocent dare like wear a funny hat, do gangam style, eat a spoonful of a condiment, name your best feature, stuff like that.
I also got her a disco ball from argos for £20 and they loved that. Bought a couple of cheapy pizzas, a bag of sausage roll bites, and some chicken and it went off well.
Hope this helps!Sealed Pot Challenge #1951

When I daughter was that age, I bought huge mens t-shirts from Primark for each of her friends, and provided fabric pens so that they could decorate their own nightshirts. this worked really well as they then wore them that night, and had them to take home afterwards0

I wouldn't go for a onsie night, though it would be fun, if there's other parents who are also skint, and their kid hasn't got a onesie, they may feel pressurised to get one. The huge t-shirts is a fab idea! You could get them in Primark, or one of the big supermarket value ranges.
I remember my slumber party, we watched videos and ate popcorn and that was about it (mind you, I'm sure I've forgotten any extra work mum put in)! Like others have said, they'll be gossiping plenty!
My nieces and nephews of all ages love making cookies, because they can colour/decorate them how they want (we made american style so they were only in the oven for 10 minutes or less - mini jelly teddy bears went lovely and gooey!). I've had pre-made dough stashed in the freezer before now - very handy for last minute activities!
The nail varnish is a good idea too - a pot of glitter to dip the ends in for extra sparkles too! You've hit the nail on the head about that inbetween stage - they'll love anything that makes them feel like lil ladies0 -
It might have been a few years ago now but sleepovers at that age I recall playing cards (usually pontoon for midget gems), eating too many sweets, talking until dawn and watching films. We went through a stage of being into all the scrat films, we were allowed to choose a 15 rating with parents permission and prob spent most of them squealing behind cushions. Lots of giggles though.
In the morning we used to make those pilsbury croissants or pain au chocolat, not much more than rolling out and shaping but lovely from the oven and we thought we were sooooo grown up.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

With parents permission TEMPORARY tattoos. They are easily applied and easily removed and they can do it their selves. You can buy lots of different kinds. Hope this helps.0

I borrowed my friends screen and projector and had a movie night with popcorn and winegums etc
No birthday but dd has asked if we can put the tent up in the dining room and watch dvds. I'm thinking of this as I don't want them falling asleep with a portable player. But I am thinking melting marshmallows over tea lights squashed between 2 choc digestive would be good a la rainbows . . .bring a sleeping bag and contain the mess. It's the shrieking that getst me I'm sure we never did that ;-)0 -
A fun truth or dare game is to get 2 pots and look up lists on the Internet and write them out so they are ready b4 girls arrive then the truth/dares dont get to embarrassing or silly and the game s ready to play0

And I wouldn't call 12 year olds "not babies anymore" - They are 12 years old...that just creeps me out so much.
The majority of 12 year olds who I mentor like chocolate, one direction, hello kitty and bling.
My daughters will always like chocolate, hello kitty was when they were about 7, and only one of mine liked One Direction!!0
