nPower Meter safety check

Like many on here we are having billing issues with nPower.
I also noticed while perusing my account activity online that they claim to have done a safety check on our gas and electricity meters on the 29th of Jan. I know this didn't happen because there was nobody at home on that date to give them access to the meters.
Their incompetence seems to know no bounds.

I had someone come out on 6th Jan 2014 but he only checked the gas meter and not the electricity meter so on my account activity it says npower read only for the gas and not the elec. Why didn't he check both?
edit: npower activity page showing it says engineer visited but then didn't read the meter.
31/01/2014 Customer read, Electricity (24 hours) 57664
31/01/2014 Customer read, Gas (24 hours) 6425
06/01/2014 npower read, Gas (24 hours) 6381

I doubt it is all down to NPower, probably a lazy meter reader. My daughter had her electric meter "read" last month. The bill had an actual read for electric and an estimate for gas. The electric meter is inside the house and the gas meter is outside, no one was at home so it looks like the reader just invented something and the electric was down as a "must read".0

I organised the engineer to come, he read the gas meter which is inside but he just said he was done and walked out without checking the leccy meter which is right next to the front door. I didn't question it at the time though so probably a bit of blame on me too but I expected him to do it.0

Most meter readers have a job that will say "read gas meter at x" and they will only do what their job sheet tells them to. Common sense doesn't exist in this industry.
Often they will read both meters in front of the customer so they think both have been read but only actually send one of the readings through to the energy company.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -
I've also had the emails, they say they've been trying to contact me for 18 months, hardly likely as I've only been with them 4 months! I'm absolutely disgusted, threatening to 'USE FORCE' and charge me for the privilege! if they want to check my meter so badly why can't THEY ring ME!
And to cap it all.. I rang Lowri Beck and they haven't even got a job raised for my address anyway.
I'm switching to another supplier tonight, absolutely disgusting. Never had anything like this with Eon in 10+ years, wish I hadn't changed.0 -
Npower seem to have a problem with their system full stop, I had many texts saying reading meters but never turned up, when they arrive they never ring door bell as both meters are outside, not impressed so far. There are more questions than answers :shhh: :silenced:WARNING ! May go silent for unfriendly repliesPlease excuse me Spell it MOST times

the must inspect flag will transfer, so just means the new supplier has todoDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -

Thanks for the response.
Unfortunately, my nPower experience has not been a good one so I have jumped ship. No bill in over 12 months is, quite frankly, ridiculous. Only time will tell if my new supplier will be any better.
That said, it would be difficult to be any worse!0
