Thank you Esther & meg.
Yes, parents paid back already. To be honest, regarding the meal planning, I just kind of scrapped through. So any tips would be great.
Also the kids had to manage with jam sarnies through there lunchboxes (amongst other things of course) so hardly nutritious, but it did the job. Any tips in that department would help too.0 -

Not many to offer that haven't already been posted but am looking forward to more from the experts! What's your new grocery budget?

Well done I am really pleased that you made it through
We struggled when our two were small and I used to make calzone (like a closed in pizza), with salad and cold new potatoes, boiled egg and mayo sarnies, tuna and mayo sarnies, mini fish cakes made with cream cheese, tuna, mackerel or sardines Home made cakes or biscuits, I just made a batch of them and froze them, just took a couple out a day, which meant that they were not snaffled when they got home from school.
in the winter I made min fruit crumbles with custard (put frit into mini pots that you can get in poundland, then make a crumble topping seperate in the oven and sprinkle over whatever fruit you are using (any cooked fruit such as apples, summer fruits, rhubarb etc or canned peaches which my two loved) pour over some custard and seal the pot.
When they were older in the winter they took a flask filled with soup or stew with all the veggies and potato chunks chopped into the stew.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
