I'm not sure if this is will find its way to the right place. It's only my second ever post! I've just spent 2 nights reading this. I think it is heartwarming, what a lot of great, supportive people. I'm sure you are going to find your way through this... The guys on here have great tips and by the sounds of it, you've made a great start. You can do it!0

I've been trying to buy popping corn from the SMs in the last couple of weeks and not been able to find any. I've tried Mr Ts, Mr Ms & Mr As - none of which stock it.
Looking online the only place I can find locally that might stock it is Holland and Barratt, it comes in a 400g bag for £1.19 and at the moment they are doing 2 bags for £1.78 which would last months! You only need to use about 25g to make a large saucepanful!
I'm planning on getting a couple of bags next week when I go into town.

Thankyou again for all messagss of support and the recipes /ideas.
I didnt make it to Asda yesterday, though dp went and picked up some cheese, chicken slices, crumpets & tomatoes.
When I do go, I am writing all the meal suggestions on here and making a shopping list from it.
Still haven't managed to read the whole £40 thread. So many links on here that I keep dipping into, never get to read through! Had a quick look at the grocery challenge this morning as suggested, it looks amazing! However, so many links aagain on there.0 -
Crispycreme- I hope you aren't too proud to ask friends or family to buy some groceries for you? I know I would be happy to buy food for a friend if they were having a tough week, and it is less awkward than asking for a cash loan, right?Asked my DGS about this and apparently he will get a small bacon bap for this amount, small bap with half rasher of bacon and a glass of squash, hardly a meal. for a growing 14 yr old.
Christ! It didn't occur to me that some schools would have crappy meals like that, rather than a proper sit-down meal.0 -
Just a thought but were you one of the many that got the free pizza vouchers last year. If so as of today you can use your last voucher for a free pizza. If you haven't then sorry for butting in but was worth mentioning as its been a while and people may have forgotten they had them.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Hi CRISPYCREME, how are you getting on?
I'm making a pie out of left over meat from weekend today. Just the chopped up meat, potatoes and veg in gravy. It will stretch the too little meat to make another meal. Every little helps as Mr T likes us to know. Well this way I spend less in Mr T or any other SM and that helps me lol.
I've been reading the 2014 Frugal thread over on debt free diaries and it is really good. I'm only up to the middle of January and there is loads to go to catch up but it is helping to keep me motivated. Trouble is we can spend so long on here that we don't get anything else done. Still, can't read and spend money at the same time.

Hello,
First of all massive thank you to everyone that helped out on here with ideas. Sorry I haven't been on, was unable to get online. Needs must etc. However back online now, so all good.
Secondly, we made it! Admittedly, we both borrowed £20 from both sets of parents, so had a boost. However, we got to the end.
Thankyou again and sorry I had to disappear. Missed the site loads!
Off to read the Frugal thread suggested by Esther.0 -
Hi CRISPYCREME: Glad you managed to get through, even with your £40 top up that's some going. Are you ok now to pay your parents back and get through April. Let us know if you need some more suggestions on meal planning etc for this month but you must be an expert now and be able to give us some pointers.:T:T:T:T:TSecond purse £101/100
