I've just noticed series 2 begins at 8pm on BBC2 tonight.
I loved the first series, this has 8 episodes which I think is longer than the last one. I would love to learn how to use my sewing machine properly & make my own clothes, sadly I can't find any local courses but I will watch with envy!:D

not sure if I should have posted it here as although it's 'old style' i know it's not necessary 'money saving', usually cheaper to buy than make although the quality & fit obviously wouldn't be as good.'there goes an old transexual, last seen heading south,

It's cheaper to do your own repairs and alterations though - very OS :money:I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
So glad this is back on, I love it! Loved the winning remodelled wool skirt, I would definitely wear that.
I really must start sewing again rather than just taking up hems and sewing up holes0 -
Awww only just saw this post so I missed it. I have set a record for next week's episode.
Thanks for posting0 -
The whole deconstructing and upcycling bit is very OS, or at least it is when you don't do it with brand new clothes!0

My tv decided to re-boot just when it was time for someone to be sent home so can anyone tell me who won't be in it next week, please. Might be better if you describe the garments they made, thanks.0

Isn't it always the way whitesatin! They didn't send anybody home in the end as someone had already chosen to leave (not sure of his name, the older guy), so you didn't miss much x'there goes an old transexual, last seen heading south,

Is it me not paying proper attention or are they explaining a bit more technical detail in this one? I don't recall them showing the patterns in the previous series or explaining how and why doing certain things in a certain way was important.
This makes me feel like I should get the old sewing-machine out of moth-balls and learn to use it properly.0 -
yes, i thought things were explained a bit better this time too. I have just checked & series 1 was only 4 episodes so hopefully there's more time to go into more detail with this one.
I've just checked whitesatin & the guy who chose to leave was called Cliff.'there goes an old transexual, last seen heading south,

Thanks for that PinkTiger. I should have sussed that really because if they sent someone else home, they wouldn't be able to have all the programmes they had planned.
I really enjoy the programme so will carry on watching. I can sew but find that my patience is waning these days.0
