Tablet

Hi guys. I know I've posted before about tablets but I've finally made up my mind that I need a better tablet.

Can people please recommend one. Would very much like a bargain, defiantly don't want an iPad. Considering the Samsung galaxy 8" .

Budget about £150

If you have already bought one and used one, then you should know what to look for. So try google, really does work a treat.

Unless you're married to a microSD card, push your budget to £180 I think for the current Nexus 7, or relax your budget and buy the previous Nexus 7, possibly reconditioned, for around £110. Zavvi had them for £100 but sold out. Also look second hand.
There's often confusion about which one's which. Well if the ad just says Nexus 7, assume it's the old one. The old one is often called the 2012, and the new one the 2013, and of course if you look through the specs, the new one has a REAR and front camera, the old one just a front.

I have a Galaxy Tab 8 - just got one for £129 on the recent Asda deal which is an absolute bargain in my opinion.

The screen is very clear the size is perfect to hold in one hand. We have an iPad mini and the format/ratio of the screen is different which makes it hard for me to hold in one hand for any length of time as its far wider than the samsung tab 3 8 inch.

Bear in mind that there is a new one coming out soon which I think is called the Tab Pro but that will almost certainly be around £250 which put it out of my price range.

I use mine for email, web browsing general apps, Netflix and flappy bird :-)
Although some people might look at the specs and say the processor isn't as good as some other tablets, in real use I have not found it to be a problem at all.

For me a 7" tablet is just too small and a 10" is too large so this item is my sweet spot.

here is the link for anyone interested...
add to basket at 199 then add the two codes stated at the top of the page and it reduces down to 129 incl delivery

    hope this helps
  • Thank you for the useful replies, I think I will go for the Asda deal on the Samsung, i'm torn whether to go for the 10 inch one or the 8 like yours. Just wanted some recommendations so thanks for them.
