Which online share dealing account is best?

I am looking to make investments in shares and put together a small portfolio.
As a share-buying novice, I am looking to open an online share buying account that isn't complicated to view or use.
Could anybody recommend an online share buying account that is simplistic to use and relatively cheap. An account with a mobile app would be a definite advantage.

Your cheapest will probably be Iweb (£25 fee but £5 a trade and is Halifax by another name)
Then there is x-o but I find them less user friendly than Halifax (£5.95 a trade)
Up to the Halifax itself, no fee but £12.50 a trade soon (31st March currently 11:95) They also do some occasional sessions of 2 hours in the middle of the day for £3.95 per trade.
Don't forget to look at our ISA options on this too.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -

Stamp duty is just a tax on the sale of shares and securities.0

SVS Securities is only £5.75 per trade but no mobile app unfortunately. Shareprice has a great app and costs £10 per trade through the website or £9 per trade if you use the mobile app. Neither charge a fee.0 -
The other way round - stamp duty is a tax (0.5%) levied on the purchase of shares and other investments (not all - eg ETFs are exempt)Stamp duty is just a tax on the sale of shares and securitiesWe have a climate emergency and need to re-think investing strategies to avoid sectors that are part of the problem such as oil & gas and embrace climate-friendly options such as renewable energy.0
