I recently purchased an Acer Aspire V5-122P to replace my old Dell Inspirion 1541 which finally died (hinges bust!!!).
I used to connect the Dell to a Sony Bravia TV using VGA/HDMI cables and Audio cables, so we could watch BT Sport (as I got it free via the internet) then everyone could watch the Sport being shown on the TV.
The Acer Aspire has a port known as a 'converter cable port' (I think!!) and I've been using it to connect a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, for the managing of files via the Acer.
I think (but not sure - hence the post) that the Acer can be connected to the TV using this port.
Can anyone confirm or advise exactly what type of cable I require, if the Acer can be connected to the TV.
A couple of cables I've seen, but not sure which are the right ones, are:-

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Mini-Converter-Port-Cable/dp/B00DG6UUC8

Some of these look as if the 'male' connector is more of a USB size!!! Therefore do I just need one of these and connect directly to a USB slot on the Acer?

It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
and it'll only take about another 100 years for mankind to really **** it up!!!!

Had a look at their website. No idea what an 'Acer converter port' is, but surely you can get a connector for it that will convert to HDMI?
Is that just a rebranded mini displayport connector? If so, you can buy one that goes to HDMI (will carry sound and vision) for about under a fiver. Need someone else to confirm though.0
