Im going to a caravan park for a week in May - the area is Broadmoor, Kilgetty, Pembrokeshire
I am wondering what Take Aways are in the area and if there are any grocery stores local. I have tried justeat etc and nothing comes up. I know there is a pub called The Cross Inn right next to the site but would prefer more take away. 5 hour drive to get there so don't fancy cooking the 1st night. Can anyone give me any info of the area, places to visit etc.

Cross inn isnt a bad place if you have kids a decent park when the weathers good food was ok (3 years since weve been ) There used to be a small cafe/takeaway in the shop on the opposite corner from the pub but i cannot remember it being open later that about 7 or 8. There will be something on the way to Kilgetty or Saundersfoot. If youve not been before the beaches are stunning and not too far . I love wisemans bridge end seemed easier to get there & Park . We stayed in a tourer at wood office & cross inn another year, Folly farm & oakwood are on your doorstep too . Enjoy Wales:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

Thankyou for that info - been having a look on google maps and oakwood looks pretty good. The little shop over the rd from The Cross Inn looks like it has closed down now - cars for sale on the car park. Seems nearest supermarket is at Pembroke Docks. Do you know where the car boot is atall ? some airfield I believe or if there are more in the area. Thanks again0

Found the car boot - it looks very good0

Nooooo Pembroke docks about 15 miles away but Saundersfoot/ Tenby/ Narbeth are about 5 miles sure there will be a supermarket there or all them places .
EDIT--- Had to check . Sainsburys in Tenby & A Jack Williams and sons in Narbeth . so google says . hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
There's a large Co-op shop in Kilgetty village & a chip shop. Nearby is Folly Farm, worth going if you've got young kids.0

Thankyou Osian that's a great help as Kilgetty only round the corner - will be in coop Monday it seems hehe.0

I live in Kilgetty, there is a co-op and as for take aways there is an indian, a very good Chinese and a good chippy, it only takes 5 mins in the car to get there.
Folly farm as someone else has said is very good if you have kids and if you have any Tesco clubcard points you can convert them to buy tickets.
If you need any more info just ask I will be happy to help.gave up smoking 07/01/09 :j:j:j0 -
Thankyou so much Samantha - looks like Coop be our 1st port of call so stock up on essentials. The chippy will be our 1st meal too it seems hehe.
No kids with us its just 2 adults. Was looking at the Oakwood Theme Park but it isn't open until the Bank holiday weekend. I looked at it last month and it was showing as open the week we are there but now changed to the bank holiday. Do you know if its worth a visit or not ? Don't want to fork out £45 and it to be not up to scratch. Read some terrible reviews about the theme park so not so sure.
Do you know where there is a large supermarket other than down by the Docks ?0 -
Not trying to insult a local attraction, but Oakwood is probably a lot smaller than you'd expect.
Largest supermarkets are in Haverfordwest - Aldi, Morrisons, Tesco to name but three - but do try some of our smaller shops; great produce and character."I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -

Isn't Haverfordwest a lot further than Pembroke dock ? Looks it on the map.0
