any advise would be helpful beacuse if it is dangerous or not right i need to go back and get him to change it

He's obviously fitted the wrong tyre by mistake (I would hope!), and should be beside himself to get his mistake sorted pdq.
Very strange he didn't notice this at the time, or were there two fitters involved?0 -
I agree ,the 165 is a wider tyre get them to change it.There are two sides to every story.

i sat in the waiting room but from what i could see there were 3 young lads so it seems i'll get hubby to take it back they might not try to pull the wool with him i just hope they admit they dropped one
thanx0 -
It is illegal to have different sizes on the same axle. So a 155 on the rear left and a 165 on the rear right is illegal but 155's on both sides on the front and 165's on both sides on the rear is legal.0

the 165/55/R13 is 2.4% smaller in circumferance - so when your speedo reads 60mph the tyre is doing 61.5mph
It needs to be changed to be the same as the other 3...
I'm sure its a simple mistake on the part of the Garage.2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0 -
Do make sure the tyres you end up with ARE the ones approriate for your model & engine size, detailed in your cars handbook.
If you don't, then your insurers will consider you to have 'modified' the vehicle & possinly up your premiums, or if you had a mis-hap, not cover you.
If you don't have the handbook, www.kwikfit.co.uk lets you confirm what should be fitted, by clikin' a couple of boxes.
& it seems strange the MoT tester didn't notice this, as it is a test failure!!

are the different size tyres on the drive axle? if so get them changed quick. it has been known for the differential to wear out in less then 200 miles!0
-
Not for a difference in width.0
-
a difference in width with the same aspect ratio will mean a difference in overall diameter.0
