Life after DRO - Broken down car

Good morning,

I entered my DRO in May 2011 and completed the moratorium period in May 2012.

Things in my life have vastly improved without need for any credit since this 'life line'. I am not on a high salary, however I get by reasonably comfortably each month.

This morning when driving to my new job (second day!) my car broke down, luckily I have breakdown cover and got towed home, to cut a long story short my car is now knackered and I don't have enough money saved to get a replacement.

I need to do 30-40miles a day to get to and from work, there are bus/train services however nothing direct so consequently that takes me almost 2hours but the main problem is my start times are 04;00, 05:00 and 06:00 on a rota so that time in the morning public is very limited/non existant!

I can't ask my family to borrow money as my Dad is struggling with his own finances due to his business being very quiet and I have no other family/friends to ask. I also know I will not be able to get a loan as I have bad credit history.

I know this is a longshot however as I am out of ideas I wonder if anyone else can think of anything? I would be most grateful of any helpful contibution.

Many thanks
JDC

p.s. I have recently started saving with the local credit union however I have only made one deposit so far and they usually require 3 before a loan can be requested. I am going down to their office today to enquire on the off chance however I am sure they will not be able to help me.
