Dla/pip

I know this was talked about some time ago but I hope by now somebody has a definite answer.

I am one of the women who became of pension age between age 60/65. ,y pension age was 61 and I qualified for a state pension Nov 2012. Therefore no longer of working age.
Imhave an indefinite award for DLA . I would have continued on DLA as any other pensioner is allowed to but for the introduction of PIP.
Introduced April 2013 for people age 16-64. My confusion is I was regarded as no longer of working age and getting a state pension before PIP was introduced and still getting my DLA.

Now I am not sure if I will come under PIP or not. It's very confusing and distressing. I hope somebody has an answer. Surely it's wrong if
They now class me as working age under PIP.

Yes, you will be transferred to PIP. An indefinite award will make no difference as the criteria for PIP are different to those for DLA.

Working age has nothing to do with it.

    See here for the timetable:

If you were under 65 in April 2013, then you will, at some point, be assessed for PIP, instead of receiving DLA.

These were set for October 2015, to begin, but there are massive delays at the moment with PIP and assessments.

It doesn't matter what you age you are at assessment, it is the cut off point of April 2013 which matters.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
  • Thank you for your replies although its not good news. You would think it would apply to people of working age from the day it was introduced not to people getting a state pension. I am sure when it was introduced it said it was for people of working age. Oh well another blow for women's rights. Thank you
