Exterior/Interior protection
We are buying a new Nissan Qashqai
After agreeing the price through PCP and the make/model, the delar has come back asking if we want the ceramic coating/interior protection package for £499
Does anyone have any opinion on if this is worth it? I've read articles that say it's basically a £30 t-cut kit/scotchguard that is applied by some junior apprentice in the garage and other threads say it is worth it for overall protection of the car
We are fairly certain we will be keeping the car after the 3 year period.
Any opinion gratefully received
Mike

That is pretty much all it isYou can buy the kits and do it yourself for peanuts. The dealers push it because they make massive profits on it. A lot of the time they will throw that in for free to sweeten the deal and make the customer believe they are getting a good deal, but its worth about £30.
Decline and keep the £500 yourself0 -

To which you should answer 'No' as the dealer's only asking since there's about 75% margin in it for him, and he probably gets an extra few beers' worth of commission each time he sells it.
Complete waste of time. Buy the car, spend a day waxing it with decent products, then repeat every 6 months. Simple.
Or alternatively, over the course of three years, have someone valet the car 10 times for the same £500.0
