Engine oils, safe to mix ?

The only rule of engine oil is a BIG HUGE NO NO to supermarket oils. Halfords oil, Euro Car Parts oil, all those other oils are professionally manufactured and is spec'd correctly. Halfords oil is Comma rebranded and Euro Car Parts is shell rebranded, quality stuff.

Why? Do you think Asda make their own oil?
No, its made by Comma / carlube also
Asda 10w/40Oil is rated API SL CF - ACEA A3/B3 and Halfords 10w/40 is rated exactly the same but £5 more expensive than the Asda oil.
Just about to service my car with Triple QX 10w40 oil from Eurocarparts. £12.49 for 5 litres, rated exactly the same as the above!
Brand is not as important as the frequency at which you change it0 -

And by the way, you should always get your oil on special offer like at Christmas. I recently picked up 4 5 litre bottles of fully-synthetic
of Triple QX which is shell for just £40.
Two oil filters for £5
Cheap oil change right there0 -
ASDA sell Castrol........does this mean its no good then?0

As long as the API code is right for your car, doesn't matter whos container you buy it in, it will do the job.0

The Shell.
Decent oil lasts a LOT longer than 2mo/2k miles. Unless, of course, you're American...
Nobody is saying the shell will expire in 2k miles but it will be significantly degraded after 2k miles to the point that you have to wonder is it really better quality after 2K miles than brand new supermarket oil?0 -

Will it?
Do you have any data on that?Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
