Bank charges refunded

hi
i had a lovely experience with Halifax. my hubby has an account with them and should receive regular text messages about his balance. he didn't receive any for four days during which he went over his overdraft. we only found this out after he went to the petrol station. We looked online, compared when he went over and when he last received a text.
i emailed them, about 48 hours later we had a phone call. the chap apologized and said that another dept was responsible for the text service, but after looking at his account Halifax was refunding £35 charges incurred because of the same reasons the previous month, the £10 charges that would of been incurred because although i transferred money into his account from mine (sat evening) it would not of been credited until Monday. and on top of that £25 compensation also.:j
1 Lesson learned: always check balance daily online because it will show whats in and out.
2 Lesson learned: write an email when you login if you feel that a charge is unfair. the worse they can do is telephone and explain why its not but they have the telephone bill

My experience tells me they only do a weekly standard text and low balances texts don't happen on weekends. If you go overdrawn Friday they'll tell you on Monday.
Still, it's a worthwhile service.0
