Asus K55A Black Screen

Hi there,

I have a problem I've never encountered before and am hoping someone can help.

Tonight, I suddenly got a black screen on my Asus K55A. I tried the usual thing like removing the battery and depressing the Power button. That didn't work and for some reason, I pulled the adapter jack out and lo and behold, my screen was back. Tried connecting it again and the black screen was back. I rebooted the laptop in Safe Mode and tried connecting it again and the screen was ok but as soon as I booted it normally again - status quo!

I'm hoping someone's come across this situation before.

Thank you,

Linzi

are you using a separate screen to your laptop?

what adaptor jack? a jack that operates a separate screen? or charger jack?
