I used to always use Nice N Easy but for the past few months have stuck with one from the Pound Shop. I don' recall that name ( and it's too cold to go upstairs to look) but it is in a red box. Works just as well as more expensive brands.0

I'm currently using Nice and Easy - colour 4G (Natural dark golden brown?) Looks really natural and definitely brown, not black.0

I've been using L'Oreal Excell 10 in chocolate brown - it gives a nice rich dark brown. I was quite impressed because after using it I went in for a cut and even the stylist complimented me on the colour which I think is a pretty good signCommon sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

Until recently I've always used schwartkopf pretty much, however I've found aldis range of dyes (my hair is very long so needed to economise buying 2 packs at a time) the are amazing and I'm pretty certain are off he schwartkopf production line. Two bottles for less than a fiver too0

Thanks for all your replies
This is the colour I'm looking for.... a very dark brown that isn't a dull black. Is this the type of colour you all went for with your different brands? I have tried Garnier Nutrisse in the past and I like that it left my hair very shiny. I'm just worried to buy a dark brown colour that might turn out dull black!0 -
I find you have to go for a shade below what than you think you want... Why?it seems to be how hair dyes work... and it's easier to dye over with the next shade darker if it is too light
My mum is a medium brunette, we use "dark blonde" from different ranges, currently an Avon one, nice and easy, superdrugs own always dark blonde we go for and find it perfect, the lightest brown is too dark... makes no sense!!
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

There seems to be a lot of people who go grey when they get to my age, i must be lucky although my brown hair has gone i've become Ash Blond.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

When I was that dark I used to use this http://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/hair-colour/all-over-color/excellence/natural-darkest-brown.aspx
If it comes out too dark for you a quick wash with a mild shampoo should sort everything out0
