The engine warning light keeps coming and going.
Can anyone suggest a suitably cheap (<£50) diagnostic tool to extract the error codes?
55 plate Mini Cooper
Thanks

OBD 2 has been the standard since the 2000, so yours should be that
edit:
Petrol cars in Europe made for sale on or after January 2001
Diesel Cars in Europe made for sale 2004 onwards
***Petrol cars in the USA made for sale 1996 onwards
many units on Ebay for £10 or so upwards - the cheaper ones focus on engine but more expensive can also emission stuff etc IIRC
think it was this one I've got - just look up the code number in supplied manual

you could look for a creator C110 scanner run about £40.00 delivered and are a great scan tool for letting you know what codes your car logging, you can clear the codes and see if the re occur0 -
Just get a cheap Bluetooth OBD2 tool off eBay. They're great for engine management stuff. Really, if it's anything outside of that, you need specialist tools to diagnose them anyway. (e.g. ABS failures etc)0
