Oh that's OK then I though some cruel person was freezing you!!;)
Obviously I don't know your lifestyle but personally I'd miss the heating more a bit later in the evening. At 5 p.m. I'm still busy about the house and then cooking the supper. I'd miss it more later on. How do you manage in the mornings.
P.S. Excuse nosiness.:o0 -
I'm only really comfortable at 24 degrees - however my core temperature is always low.
With the average body temperature at 37 degrees and mine rarely reaching 36, I wonder if that contributes. Not Rachmaninov

I have a 'Keep warm and save money' card, from the public library, which contains a thermometer and advises on healthy temperatures for the home. It says that below 16 is too cool and could cause health problems, 20 is ideal and above 22 is too warm and too costly.
Now having just had a central heating replacement, after making do with a gas fire and oil radiator for quite a long time, I expected to be toasty warm..but I'm not.
At 20 (I have closed off this main room to avoid drafts) or even sometimes 22 degrees I still feel cold. I am 65 and have back problems which restrict my movement on some days, but wonder whether this is me being odd or do others have their thermostats set higher ?
You have a room thermometer which is probably accurate. Most room stats measure slightly differently. We noticed this when we changed our stat. We found we had to have it slightly higher than the old one, consequently we now have the heating on 18/19 rather than 17/18. Don't forget that the stat works on the temperature around it, not further in the room and heat rises and most stats are up at eye level, so hot heads and cold toes

I do not like high temperatures and by that I mean more than 20. I almost never heat my apartment. For me, there is simply no need.Work hard, play hard.0

Maman - I get up around 7.40 and leave for work an hour later so at present I just put up with the cold for an hour. The only horrid bit is getting out of the shower
I don't get home 'til about 5.20 so 2-3 hours heat is enough really so long as I have a blanket to snuggle with until around 10.30 when it's to bed with a hot water bottle. I do miss it a bit inthe morning but am hoping I will see a difference in the bills. I must admit that at weekends I cheat a little and sometimes put it on around 3-4 pm - I justify it as I can dry my workclothes around the radiators. "'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life
