Help with mobile tarrifs

My Son wants a Sony Xperia SP with unlimited data.
I know nothing about mobile phones ( I have a £10 one which I keep for emergencies) so I do not know where to start as it all seems very confusing. Please help me find the best deal

    Three network are the only ones who do truly unlimited data.

    You don't say how old your son is, but if he's under 18, I'd suggest you do not take out a contract pretending its for you. The horror stories of doing this are legion.

    Stick with PAYG, it protects your credit file from bring ravaged by issues that you would never expect.

    Very wise words from Buzby. Do not allow under 18 year old to have a phone contract in your name, despite all the promises it may cost you dearly, thousands in fact
