Grand C Max versus S Max.
Just wanted some feedback and intelligent opinions.
We are deliberating whether to get Ford Grand C Max or go for the bigger S Max.
We want 7 seats but won't be using them all on a regular basis.
We have a disabled Grandma who uses a wheelchair.
Both options would have 1600 Diesel engines, fuel economy is a consideration, obviously the S Max will be less economical.
The sliding doors on the C make it easier to get in and out and is a good idea with kids (we foster 2 boys aged 6 and 8) and Grandma.
The driving position and comfort is better with the S but obviously parking won't be as easy.
I think it's easier to get in and out of the C because you walk through after folding the middle seat, but the S is more comfortable when you are actually in it!
I just thought if there were any owners of said vehicles they could give me some reviews, we will be getting new on the motability scheme.
Thanks in advance.

Can only give you my view on the grand c max.We got one new and although its mostly used by the wife ferrying me to hospitals a fair distance away I find it very roomy and comfortable. However when its loaded with the daughters and grandkids the rear seats are definitely only fit for children.
The rear sliding doors are a real bonus especially in car parks where kids would tend to open normal doors without thinking of the car beside. We found the diesel engine 1.6 whilst very good on a motorway is more gutless on the country roads where we live I think because the turbo takes its time to cut in and if we were to do it again whilst I would certainly purchase another grand c max taking into account the miles covered annually I would opt for a petrol engine.
We have the titanium model but to be honest some of the additions fitted are not worth having. The voice recognition which can be used to control much of the equipment,(radio,cd,climate, phone etc) simply does not work 90% of the time, you try telling it to dial a set number and spend the next 2 minutes with an irritating voice asking you "repeat please" then giving you the various options over again before telling you "request not recognised" and going off.
You can also pre program a set speed for the motorway but unless your driving in the middle of the night you rarely get to use it so if you plan paying extra for the upgrade it think carefully if you will get your moneys worth.0 -
A friend of mine is on their second S Max and swears by them. It is a fair sized car but the Grand C Max isn't small either. If you feel more comfortable driving the S Max then that's the one I'd opt for but at the end of the day, it's up to you as is ease of access.0
