in Credit cards
Just want to check I'm not misunderstanding anything here (brain isn't quite functioning...) as it looks like this is a short-term offer I'd need to move on quickly.
I'm looking at this card http://www.nationwide.co.uk/creditcard/select_credit_card_flexclusives_offer/default.htm
Currently I don't have a nationwide account, but looks like opening one at same time qualifies.
* It looks like it's fee free abroad etc - so a good substitute for my clarity card and I can close that, or is it not as good for some reason I've missed?
* Gives 0.5% cashback long term, 2% for a few months (so as good as my MBNA now they dropped the rate, and I can close that one too?)
* 15 months 0% purchase, so I can stooze a little which works as I need to remortgage next year and expect to be marginal around 75LTV, so a buffer would be nice... Someone confused me about this a few weeks back saying it only applies for first x months but I'm assuming this means purchases are interest free until e.g. May 2015 and this applies to all purchases up to then, am I right?
If so it seems a decent match for me and enables me to drop a couple of cards too, but I just want to check I'm not wrong anywhere as I'm not really 'with it' at the moment!

Mastercard also seem to have marginally better exchange rates on average than VISA so I prefer using the Clarity anyway.0 -
Initial thoughts:
Clarity has no fee for cash withdrawals.
Clarity has lower APR (if you've got the representative rate).
Select only earns cashback on Sterling purchases.0 -
ok thanks, so I'll stick to the clarity, I didn't spot the cash fee. APR's not really relevant as I don't carry a balance unless it's 0%.
Is my understanding right on the third bit? (i.e. it'll be 0% purchases until ~May 2015, for all purchases up to then and not just for a few months from opening)0 -
Yes it's 0% on purchases for 15 months0
