Current account application

Hi

I have 2 defaults on my credit score and one public record which I need to look into more as i don't no what it. My credit score was fair. However I recently applied. for a current account online with my bank as I only have a cash card at the moment. I currently have a credit builder credit card with. A £750 limit.

Since applying for the current account it has added a negative factor to my report for opening a new account. my credit score has gone from fair to poor? I haven't heard anything from my bank in regards to my application so not quite sure what happening ? Why has my credit score changed

Please advise as I'm really trying to mend my credit score.

Comments

  • You can't mend something that doesn't exist(credit scores) but you can improve your credit file by paying on time and not missing a payment and getting a long history of managing credit lines.

It's all about lowering your risk to lenders and with your defaults on your file you will carry a high risk until these drop off your files.
