Kump on cats back following microchip

As the title says. I had both cats neutered and chipped two weeks ago. They went back for a check up on day 3 and the vet noticed a lump around the microchip site on Squeak. She said to take him back after a month, however it is now the size of a marble, appears to be none tender and Im worried. I have google it and apparntly microchips have been linked to sarcomas? Any one had this following chipping with their cat?

Take him back to the vet asap and get it checked out. I've not had this myself with any of mine, but I would take my cat in this situation.0

could be scar tissue - my sis has a horrible appendectomy scar even though the surgeon did a lovely job. apparently her body reacted by scarring badly. but, it does need to be established that this is a 'normal' reaction.0
