Would welcome suggestions of which voip phone to buy.
Do not need anything fancy, should have caller display, and work either with our superhub from virgin, or plug in to the router attached to it if needed.
If possible, the cheaper the better, but max budget £50/60.
Thanks.

May be a refurb good be bought from somewhere?0 -
Having a quick look around I cannot see any reference to using it on standard VOIP providers (eg Sipgate) it MAY only work with Cisco system.
You need to be careful as some phones only work with their makers systems.
Perhaps look for Grandstream VOIP phone or an ATA (eg Cisco/Linksys PAPT2) .
I Use both PAPT2 with ordinary pots phone plugged into it, and a Grandstream Voip phone, all on Sipgate (Other providers are available!)0 -
If you have a smartphone why not download a VOIP app and use that instead of buying a dedicated VOIP phone.
And if your smartphone has a forward facing camera you'll also be able to make video calls.0 -
If you have a smartphone...
Much more difficult to handle incoming calls coming from ordinary phones.0 -

I've not used a dedicated VOIP phone so you could well be right but with the Android app, as long as you’re signed in to Skype, your Skype Number will ring just like any other call.0
