Meant to have a real blitz and report proudly today, but just isn't in my slothful nature. To be blisteringly honest, all I've achieved so far is:
- reading in bed for too long
- reading too many forums
- watching some olympics
No let's not be too harsh, I have also:
- sent out my 'availability diary' to some of my students who don't have a regular slot
- read emails
- done a few surveys
- emptied dishwasher which could have been everything clean, shiny and tidied but instead the bl****y machine had a tantrum and raspberry sauce, coffee, cheese sauce and various other delights appear to be evenly spread over EVERYTHING and baked on, so it will be a wash-everything-by-hand session. Later.
Now I'm salvaging all my guilt feelings with a coffee and a determination to get a current report completed before I meet a friend for lunch at 12.45. Be realistic; I'm not turning up in my perpetual homewear of multicoloured fleece trousers and grubby baggy jumper......12.15.
And I've just wasted 5 mins typing this.....oh I'm really not worth the effort.......don't worry it's not a mental health crisis, just pure exasperation at my idleness. Have a nice day!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Another newbie joining you all. I end up spending far too much time on a weekend doing the housework and then finding I don't get everything done so I think I need to do this.
Have my 3 year old DS and 4.5 year old neice with me for most of the day today so will see how much I can get done.GC: Feb (16th Jan - 15th Feb) £46.25 / £50

- help DH sort out his outdoor jackets, then go with him to M€rry H€ll  to buy a new one that fits properly *and* is long enough to keep him warm *and* is waterproof
Merry Hell? At half term? You're made of stern stuff
Anybody wants me this evening, I'll be sorting out that floordrobe. Send the sniffer dogs in if I haven't checked in by 8 :rotfl:‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Having been fully retired from paid work for 5 years and working to a different routine for the past 18 years, I forget what half term shopping is like
I am pleased to say that we have gone through DH's coats and jackets and he has decided *not* to go out and buy a new one (a total waste of money when it will be far too big for him in a few weeks' time if we continue our SW success) so the trip to Merry Hell is cancelled and we are off on holiday wearing our old but still serviceable jackets for hopefully almost the last time. My winter coat hangs on me like a sack
Have rung DD. They are all back in one piece from skiing and the floods have not affected their area, though the subterranean stream under their lawn is now visible in the form of a soggy patch in the far corner of their garden.
I have also just put 2 of DH's storage boxes through the DW and they have come up almost nice enough to have on show in my utility, even if they do have to contain some of his stuff. I shall just need to crack open the Ast0nish to deal with a few stubborn black marks which have probably been on them for more time than I've been out of school routines. 4 more to do!
Beds stripped and WMx1 finished; 2 more loads to follow.
Frog munching progress is being made

Just checking in - WM x 1 done, washing up done, bit done from list, kids outside with DH whilst I'm making soup for us and boiling up the peelings for the chooks. This afternoon taking DD to get her hair cut and not sure what else. Bit of a lazy day really but suits me fine.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0

What is "Merry Hell"?
DW unloaded, why don't silicone moulds clean properly in there? So I still had to wash them by hand  (DD1 made cupcakes in silicone cases, left me to clear it all up.)
I've cleaned out the fridge and decided I'm no longer buying DD2 hummus and stuff cos she never finishes it  I've also done an inventory of the freezers so I'll meal plan and do a shopping list from that. Which I'm going to now with the aid of a coffee . . .
