Sold my Vitamix when I got the Thermomix, TM is much more than a blender, but each to their own, each home has different budgets and expectations.

Just made walnut bread dough in mine, and a batch of aioli as well as the soup for tonight.

Friends of ours have them for their boat/caravan respectively - brill for small spaces
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

You can make (hot) soup in the Vitamix as well as ice-cream. As for making aioli, why? unless your making a gallon. The minibowl in the magimix is far better IMHO. As you say each to their own.

I have the TM 31. I didn't pay anything like the £975 as I needed to buy the lid seal and cake making attachment plus it didn't have the steamer thing that goes on the top.
For weeks I just thought it's a glorified food mixer as onions don't brown not unless you add brown sugar and have it on 45 mins same with spices so now I use frying pan to brown onions and spices. Bread as well you can make the dough in it but it won't bake the bread. For the price it should do everything but doesn't.

I've just googled it having seen the OP, and shut the tab down after a single glance - the website promoted a shot where all the stuff was spread out in a work surface. My first thought was that I don't have the space!

But walnut bread does sound very yummy indeed. The brain says "Go to Waitrose and buy a loaf".

Anyone notice the Great British Menu programme on BBC 2 , 7.30 pm use a Thermomix? Not sure how many Thermomix machines are there but there is about 6 of the stainless steel jugs that fit into the Thermomix.

I used to own one years ago but it broke down and no one would fix it. I really loved it, it made food that was just tastier than the normal way of doing things and I miss it. Looking at the videos of modern ones I really covet one again, but can't justify the expense (even if I had that much to spend) now that there are only two of us at home. I think with gadgets like this you either love and use them or just think they are a waste of money - we all have different likes and dislikes, but I have to say that I'd have one again in a shot if my children were still living here (and if I could find the space to put it !) I've often noticed professional chefs on TV using them, though i'm not in that league.

imho re the kenwood one, Don`t bother, I bought one after dh died, I thought it would make cooking easier. Was a complete and utter waste of money. Got rid of it a month ago, was not even worth the cupboard space.

no wonder the price has gone down and down. I would not even pay £99 for it

It is a faff to use
