Hi all,
Sorry if this is a daft question!! Can I stick labels directly on to my back-up discs?
Up until now I have been storing each disc in a hard plastic case but have now run out of them. (don't know where I can get more ):o
Thanks:beer:

If you stick ordinary labels on them you will unbalance the disc and when in the drive will make it vibrate - just like a car if you have not had you tyres balanced, or a washing machine in spin cycle if it is badly loaded.
Paper sleeves as suggested are fine, keep all cds/dvds you make out of the sunshine as the UV can damage the dyes and in due time make them unreadable.0 -
So what would you use for immediacy and portability?securityguy wrote: »But, really, CDs and DVDs for backup? In 2014?0 -
Also be aware home-burn discs tend to 'fade' quite quickly depending on the quality of the blanks you used and the write speed. You can get archive-quality ones, but at a price.0

A BIG THANKS to everyone who replied.
I thought that putting labels on was probably not a good idea.
I will be going to poundland as suggested by skymist when I can, but have ordered some paper ones from A....... as suggested by Gillor for now.:A:smileyheaMagenta0
