We're just about to buy a new car from a main dealer. Is it always best practice to pay £100 on a CC for extra protection?

how you paying for the actual car, if finance dont bother with credit cardDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

No, no finance. Paying in cash. Just wondering whether it's worth paying £100 on CC for protection.DEBT FREE AND PROUD

When I bought a new car for cash last year the dealer was quite happy to accept a CC for the deposit but would only accept a debit card, bank transfer or cheque for the remainder on the day we picked the vehicle up, we paid with a debit card because if payment was by cheque we would have to wait for it to clear before they would release the car.0

If it's S75 you're after then it is the price of the car that must be more than £100. Given that, you can put any amount you like on the credit card, theoretically 1p would be enough.
The main cardholder should be the one undertaking the transaction and, (for completeness) the CC should not have a positive balance at the time.0
