Hi All,

I'm having trouble loading Facebook on both Chrome and IE, it doesn't seem to be down as friends are able to access it on their devices and the laptop I'm using doesn't have any problems loading other pages. Does anyone have any solutions?

Thanks

Can you try a different computer through the same internet connection? If that works, then the problem is on your computer. If it still doesn't work then maybe the router is blocking it somehow.

I found a link online that allowed me to access my Facebook page via a different interface - I don't know if this sheds any light on the problem?

Open a Command window (click on Start, type cmd and press Enter).

In the black window that appears, type in tracert facebook.com and press Enter. This will trace the path from your PC to Facebook. Copy and paste the result in here. (Right click and select Mark, drag the mouse to select the lines to be copied, right click and select Copy).

Thanks, I'm away this week and won't be home until Friday but I'll give this a try then.

    Any takers?
  • Hi, well I don't have any problems as you describe and my return from tracert looks pretty much exactly the same as yours (same terminal node). Which probably doesn't help too much but hey, maybe.

Why not try firefox, just for fun :-)
    Friendly greeting!

Try turning off your virus checker. If you can logon the immediately logoff and turn your VC back on. Don't do anything on there!

If that works then go into VC settings and enable www.facebook.com/*.* as a trusted URL.

I tried Firefox on the same laptop and it seems to work fine but the browser is noticeable slower.
