Hello.
I am after your help as I am not too sure if I have a problem or how to get over it if one exists.
I am presently viewing the internet on my TV from my computer hdmi to hdmi.
Now the sound comes out of the tv and not the computer.
What I am trying to achieve is turning the Tv volume down to zero so that I can read in silence with my daughter while my son does his homework on the computer with wireless headphones.
The problem I see is if I turn the tv down this will not enable my son to hear through his headphones as I am connecting hdmi or am I wrong?
Your help would be greatly appreciated...thank you

Are you wanting the TV to still be the display? If so, your best option would be to run the headphones from the TV - or switch from HDMI to VGA for sending the signal to the TV.
Alternatively, you'll need to go into the sound settings on the computer (depending on your OS), and manually switch from one to the other - at least it should theoretically be possible to do that. IF Might work easier with cabled headphones, rather than wireless ones as you can set the computer to output to headphones that are plugged into the headphone socket (not USB)1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
I am running on windows 7 from a laptop not a tablet.
I would prefer not to have cables as my son is a classic boy and likely to pull on the cables and break them at some point0 -
Wireless (USB) headphones will show up as a separate output device when you plug the usb dongle in.
You just select this output device and it will work fine.0 -
Thank you so much....seems like I was overcomplicating things0
