How long ago and how serious was your debt problem? Did you go bankrupt, IVA, did the bank have to write off monies you owed?
You might consider making a new start and open a basic account elsewhere.
I agree. There may well be a CPD marker on the OP's Lloyds file, meaning she will never get a Classic account. Only viable alternative could be a different bank but this depends a lot on the status of the credit file.AllThingsEmmaDunn wrote: »Iv done a credit search thing and because i have not had any credit since or been on a contract ect its still pretty poor. The debt was about 6yrs ago now.
What defaults are showing on your CRA files?0 -
There is a way round this for all cash account customers. Open an Easy saver savings and ask for a cashpoint card on it. This will work in all ATM'S just remember to transfer the funds into it first.0

Does the OP have a debit card?
Is it just a Cashpoint card? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Yes, but the OP is saying that retailer cashback isn't working, which made me think he/she has an ATM only card?
Also, Sainsbury's Cashpoints are basically rebranded BOS machines (they even give mini statements) so shouldn't a Lloyds basic account card work in them?jonesMUFCforever wrote: »Yes - post one goes on about a crappy card with chip and pin. It is a basic account the card will only work in its own ATM network. My post was a workaround which would work as long as he does not want more than £200 cash per day. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. IIRC Lloyds have sold off Sainsburys.
I may have made that up, I'll check.
edit: yes, Sainsbury's have bought out the 50% share of Sainsbury's Bank which was owned by LBG.DEBT FREE!
