Basically was at a abbey national cash machine, i withdrew my whole amount as i need it for my mortgage which comes out on monday so i need it in my barclays bank for today, at my shock one of the twenty pound notes was ripped in half with the other half missing. I went ito the bank and they told me to prove it, i said well open the machine up and obviously the other half will be in there. The machine is now out of order but they are saying there is nothing they can do apart from giving me a form to send off the only problem is i need it before 5pm what are my rights.

If you'd taken the full amount out that you can with your card, couldnt you have just taken some more out over the counter with some ID?!0

Was it not possible to transfer the money online? Can't you find another £20? I always check money from machine cos I like to take £500 out. The bank should of changed the note for a new one cos it's easy to prove you were telling the truth0

Im sure I read somewhere that if you have 51% of the note it's legal tender?0
