hi all, have not been to london since i was a child but would like to take my two children 5 and 7 to the natural history museum
does a train ticket include underground?
i have no idea, have looked on red spotted hanky and a london travelcard (is that what we'd need?!) for the 4 of us return is just under £40 which is fab.
is that all we would need?
thank you
ps: how do you know which stops to get off etc? we'd be going from ely station near cambridge

Started comping October 2011, no wins as of yet. Would really love to win a short uk break so we can take the children away
Thank you to everyone who takes the times to post competitions and good luck:j

It depends on what sort of train ticket you get.
From Ely you'd go direct to Kings Cross.
You can either get a simple Ely-Kings Cross return which won't include tube travel (national rail enquiries shows that at £19 for an adult off peak return) or a Ticket that includes a Travelcard giving tube and bus travel in zones 1-6 (£25). You'll get reduced fares if you have a Friends and family railcard.
The Piccadilly tube line goes through both Kings Cross and South Kensington, which is the stop you need for the Museums.0 -

Children under 10 travel for free on the underground so long as they are with an adult who has a valid ticket. As such, it is worth pricing up two childrens tickets from Ely to Kings Cross without the travelcard and one adult ticket with the travelcard. It may cut the price a little.
Have a nice day, the museum is a great place to visit.0 -

When buying rail tickets, you do have the option of buying tube tickets then. An oyster card might work out cheaper.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
