Returning to uni/working overseas advice required

My situation is strange but I'll try and explain and hopefully someone can help - I've tried searching for information but wondered whether anyone had first had experience.

As a mature student I graduated with a BA last year from a Scottish uni. I'd like to go back and do my honours year, but I can't find out whether I'd have to (a) pay fees and (b) whether I'd be entitled to a student loan. I'm teaching in China and would like to do it for another 1/2 years. My uni's website says that the honours is free is you've completed the BA which I have and SAAS's website says you have to be resident in the UK to get a student loan.

I've got UK bank accounts, I use my parents address for bank and credit card statements, I'm on the electoral roll there, and plan to go home for two months over the summer. I'm on a Z residency visa in China for one year which if I come back I'll have to apply for residency again.

Has anyone encountered a similar situation with regards to returning to uni? I'm going to email my uni to see what they say, but just wondered if anyone knew anything further about this?

I suggest that you really study the SAAS website, and find out exactly what they mean by "resident in the UK" and then see if there is any way that you can satisfy the criteria.
