does statutory statement on equifix mean I have joined a membership?

I have just done a statutory statement for £2 on equifix does this mean it is a trial period and I need cancel with 30 days. It said my statement would expire in a couple of days

Also my credit was okay but it was things like paying bills that didn't come out on time etc that brought it down. I have paid all my bills on time for a long while now. How can I improve that section

No you don't need to cancel anything if you got a £2 statutory report.

Just keep paying things on time and that will improve over time.

What has been brought down? If you are talking about a score, ignore it. But I didn't think you get that with the statutory report so could you confirm.

You need to pay your bills on time over the long term to put late payment markers on your account as far behind you as possible where they have less weight. They can stay on file for up to 6 years within an active account or up to 12 years if you close an account just before they drop off completely.

Recently bought my £2 statutory reports from all 3 and you are correct in that they don't provide a credit score only the statement of accounts. If the OP did get a score then they may have bought something else, I did see that Experian do a more expensive report that provides a score.
  • Some of the CRAs try and up sell you to the subscription model when you go to buy the £2 statutory report with the offer of the initial free subscription.

You need to go back and double check what you actually did, statutory report only (nothing to cancel) or subscription (need to cancel)
