Is garden fence covered in buildings insurance?

I own a flat in London. A leaseholder. It is a converted property which has been split to 6 flats, I own the biggest one with a garden. There has been damage to the fences in storm last night. The fences are between my garden and the communal garden. The landlord owns the freehold on the property and all the flat owners are leaseholders. THe landlord also manages the property and charges us a crazy expensive fee for maintenance. He has also not provided us with the yearly accounts. The landlord shenanigans aside, as there is buildings insurance on the property, it should be the landlord who should get the fence fixed is my understanding. Can anyone clarify if that is not the case?
I have sent the landlord pictures of the damage and also asked him for the details of the buildings insurance so I can look up the policy but he has asked me to wait until Monday when he is back in the office.
I'd just like some expert advice on how to deal with the situation.

Insurance doesn't cover fences as I have recently discovered. And they're bloomin expensive to replace in London going on quotes I've had :eek:0 -

Hopefully, your lease will will clarify who is responsible for maintaining and repairing the fence.
If not, it's down to any interested parties to work out an agreement between themselves.
Realistically, if it's not mentioned in the lease and nobody cares about the broken fence except you, you will probably be the one that ends up paying to get it repaired.0 -
OK I will find out more when I know who the insurers are. However even if it's not covered. Should it not be the landlords responsibility?0

I wonder if fencers are putting their prices up given how busy they must be this week. Nah, that's just my cynical side.....0

There is no legal requirement to have fences separating properties, so the LL might not care two hoots whether fences are there or not. So in short, there is no legal responsibility for the LL to replace or fix your fence. If he doesn't & you want a fence, then you'll have to pay for it yourself.
Damage to fences in storms is considered an act of God by most insurance companies, so it is unlikely you will be able to make a claim.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
