Changing anti-virus - when to install?

I've always had Kaspersky on both my netbooks, but having read that the 2014 version isn't as good as previous ones, I've bought a 3-user Bullguard CD this time. My Kaspersky 2013 expires tomorrow, and I'm going away early tomorrow for a few days. I'm wondering whether to install the Bullguard now or wait until I get back.
If I do it now, will I encounter any problems, as Kaspersky is presumably still operational until midnight tonight? If I leave it, will I be vulnerable when I switch the PC on on my return, until I can get the Bullguard installed?
My Twitter account was hacked yesterday and sent out spam messages to my followers (fortunately I only have a few), so I'm aware how important it is not to take any chances.
Any tips about possible issues with Bullguard? I'm always floundering around with anything different, so it helps to be prepared!

Why ?
Probably because of weak passwords / use of social networks and giving out too much details
None with Kaspersky it is down to click say yes and open the doors to everyone
Sorry but not what you need to hear but no Anti Virus can stop any attack on cloud based weak passwords/user and ......
Since you have paid for Bullguard then what you get is what you pay for, but you really should realise that there is no bullet proof vest for the internet, the best safety you have is in your skull

Thanks for the prompt response. Wish I could remember where I read the neg feedback about K2014 - I was Googling to see where to buy it at best price, and think it was on one of the multitude of techie forums out there.
Not sure about your "why?" Do you mean why a 3-user? It's because I have two netbooks and an elderly laptop, so thought I'd make sure I can install on all should the need arise. If you mean why Bullguard, it was recommended, possibly on the same site that Kaspersky was criticized on. I know everything is subjective depending on user requirements and experience, but that was all I had to go by. It wasn't a bad price either!
I have changed my Twitter password and hope that sorts it out. I probably use it more on my phone than on my computers, although it is always in an open tab when I'm online. Password was a bit weak I suppose. The new one comes up as "good".I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Can't say I've personally read any negative reviews about Kaspersky 2014 or any of their internet security products, they've been setting the standard for years for others to try to match.
The last time (Nov/Dec 2013) https://www.av-test.org tested for Windows 8 and 8.1, Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 was the best of the best along with Bitdefender's Internet Suite 2014 for protection, usability and performance.
Bullguard Internet Security 14 also did very well with a 97% protection score. So it's not a bad choice by any means.
Of the FREE products, Panda's Cloud product and Avira came out best for protection with Comodo's Security suite next and then AVG and Avast lagging some way behind.
Of course, these results can change from period to period but even so give a good indication as to what products to go for and which to avoid.
As Debitcardmayhem said though, no product will give you absolute protection, you also have to play your part.0 -
