[Renting]Moving house and need a reference from employer, what should it say?

I am hoping to move house soon though i need a reference from my employer. He will more than happily do it, he just doesnt know what to put. I work in a small company and he has never had to write one before.

What would you suggest he incudes in it?

Thanks in advance :D

K33k00 has worked for company x for y years. I can't see that anything more than that would be required.

I think something along the lines of you've worked there for x amount of years & employer has always found you very reliable, trustworthy & he has no hesitation in recommending you as a prospective tenant.

If employer writes too little as suggested in the first post, there is a chance whoever sees the reference will wonder why nothing was said about character & only given duration of employment.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

They may just want confirmation that you are in work (they would face problems letting to anyone on benefit), so you could give them a copy of your contract of employment.

    I wouldn't give the salary.
Simply that you work there, have done for xyz years and if it's permanent or temporary.
