Kent Reliance Savings Accounts

Hi,
I opened an account last week on as was recommended as one of best interest rate account for easy access. I have had to call 3 times to ask questions as the set up has been incredibly vague and I had to guess at my username... I questioned this verbally with KRBS who said they are still setting up processes and T&Cs are 2 months out of date... I wanted to use this account for a portion of my mortgage deposit but am nervous given experience to date. Has anyone opened an account with Kent Reliance recently? What experience have you had. I am looking for reassurance . Thanks in advance for feedback.

Opened ISA on 19 Jan seemingly without much trouble. Got the sort/account/ref no. req'd via email to make initial deposit, which I did £4500 (& rec'd email confirmation).
As the ISA allowed additional deposits I then got another email containing completely different sort code, account no. & reference no. very confusing (I thought it might be a scam).
Had to phone to ask why it was all completely different. Told first info was only for initial deposit and 2nd info was for additional deposits!!! I could see that but no-one there bright enough to explain WHY.
Thankfully I didn't want to add more or I wouldn't have been confident it would end up in my own a/c.
I have discovered that when a financial organisation seems particularly thick, it's best to go on-line and bung in a formal complaint - that seems to generate a person with a brain picking it up and solving the problems/answering questions/reassuring you.
Just done that when Clydesdale seemed incapable of sending me a closing statement after being asked twice (they gave me £10 to pay for my calls), and Shawbrook who I asked 3 times via secure email for confirmation that they'd applied my R85 tax form to my a/c. Replied immediately once I put the question in the complaint format.
Interest rates are such rubbish, I'm not putting up with rubbish service as well!!Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
I recently opened the 1.6% as a safety in case rates fall again. The opening deposit goes to different a/c nos than following deposits, although the initial will work (I always send £1 first to verify the transfer). This just seems to be their system at present.
Your username is presently your email address, in the survey you can fill in when opening an account I said a selectable username must be a security priority. They are obviously just setting up the internet access and will be updating their site as they go along.0 -

Quite agree planteria .. call centre in India or the like .. trying to open an account over the phone near impossible. They have to create some pretty good accounts to attract my support. I am still a member but with little enthusiasm.0
