Elderly relative - finances.

Her immediate next of kin is her sister, who does get all the help available and is fully tuned in. I've had long discussions with her and all the family about what to do with Aunty and how things might end up in terms of care. Ultimately she's going to end up in residential care I suspect, which will be a living hell for her and the staff, which is the real worry given the recent press, the nature of such places and the type of person she is.
I've been encouraged to take the money by everyone else in the family, she has also made it perfectly clear herself, without any prompting or steering, that she wants me to have it, that's not an issue.
I shop online and have kept every email receipt since I first started doing this, new fridge, freezer, vacuum etc. and every grocery receipt. The money for myself is a more recent thing.
The problem as alluded to in the replies here, comes if I have to start trying to justify the situation to someone looking in and determined to make trouble for me who doesn't want to believe a word of it and she's not around or able to set the record straight.
I don't want to end up having fingers pointed and being accused of doing something that was never the case. I'll stop the transfers, that seems the obvious starting point and seek advice from age uk. Time to go back to taking money for the shopping and such from the bank via the post office, it's just such a faff and the transfers avoid it completely.'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0 -

I shouldn't worry unduly. It would be good to get something on paper from your aunt but, as so many people know about money, it's hard to see it becoming a problem.
I wish that elderly financial abuse was taken more seriously - have you seen this thread - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/47640440 -
I was wondering if it would help to draw up some sort of official contract of employment and to pay the money as a separate salary? You could have an additional family member co sign it to state that it was all above board.Val.0

That's a shocking situation, it's also the sort of scenario I fear being implied here.
I would have all the family on my side since there is nothing under hand about any of it but it could still be construed in that way. If someone deemed "professional" was determined to make it an issue, make a name for themselves or just has a vindictive disposition towards the situation, I can foresee how it could get very difficult.'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0 -
if you shop online for her can you just use her bank card to do so 9 with her permssion of course) that way all anyone has to do is look through her accounts to see what has been spent and on what0

I do agree that having everyone aware of what is going on and in agreement is good.0
