BT want £130 to move my master socket

I've just moved into a new property and ordered a line and infinity broadband with BT.
Having got into the property I've realised the master socket is in the hallway which is completely impratical as I'll be wanting to get Sky too.
I don't want to run wires under/over/through walls/skirting boards etc and it would also mean the power cable for the router/hub will be going across the doorway so a trip hazard, so phoned them to ask if they'd relocate the master socket. They told me the fee is £130 and I'm reluctant to pay this. I hinted I'd have to cancel my order and take a calls and broadband package with Sky but they were having none of it.
Does anyone have any advice as to how I can get round this?
Edit: I should say I have an engineer coming out on Wednesday but that is literally just to set up the fibre optic broadband.

£130 to move a socket from one wall to another and keep the cables buried sounds quite cheap to me, expect that price to rise when they see what it is you are actually requesting.
As for ways to avoid the £130, unless someone feels sorry for you then you don't stand a chance as BT have met all of their obligations to this point.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
The Openreach engineer that installs your broadband will move your master socket for you FOC if you ask him nicely. Make sure you brew up and offer biccys etc!0

£130 is the standard OR call out charge, with up to 1 hours labour. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Would they keep them buried? I presumed they'd just tack along the front wall under the door stop. They're not going to removing paving slabs to run it under. :undecided0 -

Well this is what I was hoping. I'm going to chase out for a deep knockout box so all he'll have to do is run the wire along the outside of the house then come in there. 10 mins work tops I would have thought.
Better go buy some proper nice biscuits.0 -
Just remember you must not do it yourself. You must not buy genuine BT crimps, cable and junction boxes off Ebay and you must not spend half an hour of your own time doing it as it is illegal.0

The OR guy who did our install , made a telephone extension socket the master when he installed our infinity , and left the main one (in hall way with no power socket near) dead
He didnt mention needing a charge for this , just seemed part of the service?Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0
